Recently I started playing a new MMO RTS game Strife. Until now, it has been a great experience. There are some bugs here and there but it includes lot of great features from League of Legends and Dota. You can download the game from the official site (www.strife.com). Strife is still in closed beta stage and its undergoing lot of changes over time.
Is it really “free-to-play”?
Most of you might have the problem whether it is really free-to-play or pay-to-win. From what I have seen up to now, it’s free-to-play. Everyone has his or her own definition for free to play and I have mentioned mine in one of my pervious articles. Only problem I see is, crafted items are not permanent and you need real money to make them permanent. Games should not include things that affect game play performance to be purchased by real money. Selling skins and other not performance related things are ok. I have to say, they have made all heroes available and you do not have to purchase them. But all these can change as this is still in open beta
What is great in Strife?
This is mainly comparing with games like League of Legends and Dota
- You can select the champion in all games and you do not have to fight with anyone. All champions are unlocked. Still there might be issues in selecting lanes.
- Pet concept is a great addition.
- Nice graphics and can be played on almost any PC with average performance.
- Very nice tutorial
- Minimizing all paths that lead to in team flaming and fighting
I think everyone should try this game. Personally, I like it and I think you will like it too. It shows signs of becoming a great free-to-play game.
